- Summary: The article should be summarized (using your own words) in one paragraph and focus on the author’s main points, and include references with discussing the main points
- Critique: In one paragraph, explain how the article influenced your understanding of the topic – the rubric for this is critical thinking. Think about pros and cons of the chapter, how the authors exploration compares to other authors on this topic, is it a high-level overview, a detailed view, a complex or easy to understand, is it context/industry bound, are there gaps, is it limited in focus, is there any possible bias. Also look at what is the purpose and intent of the article/chapter/book, who are the intended audience, and what is the background of the authors (is there a potential bias in the content).
- Application: In one paragraph, discuss how you will apply what you have learned from the article and support with references. Discuss means pros and cons/for and against providing an objective supported argument.
