In this assignment, students will pull together the capstone project change proposal components they have been working on throughout the course to create a proposal inclusive of sections for each content focus area in the course. For this project, the student will apply evidence-based research steps and processes required as the foundation to address a clinically oriented problem or issue in future practice.

Develop a 1,250-1,500 written project that includes the following information as it applies to the problem, issue, suggestion, initiative, or educational need profiled in the capstone change proposal:

• Clinical problem statement.
• Purpose of the change proposal in relation to providing patient care in the changing health care system.
• PICOT question.
• Literature search strategy employed.
• Evaluation of the literature.
• Applicable change or nursing theory utilized.
• Proposed implementation plan with outcome measures.
• Discussion of how evidence-based practice was used in creating the intervention plan.
• Plan for evaluating the proposed nursing intervention.
• Identification of potential barriers to plan implementation, and a discussion of how these could be overcome.
• Appendix section, if tables, graphs, surveys, educational materials, etc. are created.

Financial

The plan will be implemented through understanding the current nursing practices and utilizing a hyperlink to a section of said health care facility’s website in order to find out the complaints of the nurses anonymously and asking them how they think it should be fixed. The health care facility will then use the nurse’s input to provide a more specific plan that will be altered based on patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, nurse outcomes and nurse satisfaction.

Quality

The next step will be to implement that plan considering that stakeholder support had already been garnered. Furthermore, the plan will be implemented through the individual sector’s managerial level and changes will be made accordingly. This will be easier than a whole health care facility level because nursing burnout can be caused by varying factors rather than just on a wide scale. The individual sector will then utilize more traditional forms of advocacy because the short-term goal of the plan will be to improve nurse and manager communication levels because that can lessen instances of nursing burnout. As the nurse feels more comfortable advocating for themselves the nurses will propose more slight changes that can decrease nursing burnout and improve patient outcomes.
