What does Susan B. Anthony mean by “alleged crime”?

Susan B Anthony attempted to cast a vote in an election even though she, as a woman, was not eligible. She argued that the law was invalid.

She made a speech contending that her crime was “alleged” by others but not valid under the constitution; that she was charged but the charge was not yet proven. An academic point as she was fined $100 which she refused to pay.
