Help me study for my Art & Design class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.

1. How is the artist thinking of images such that he claims they are “more precise and richer than literature”?

2. Berger claims that cultural mystification of the past leads to works of art becoming unnecessarily remote. What might he mean by mystification? Why is it so problematic?

3. With the two portraits by Frans Hals, Berger claims there is something that we can know from the “evidence” of the painting that has somehow been missed by scholars and collectors. What could this be?
